Meghan Curran

Meghan Curran is a researcher with One Earth Future’s (OEF) Stable Seas program. Her work focuses on expanding the Maritime Security Index and understanding linkages between maritime crime and organized political violence. Prior to joining OEF, Meghan served as an officer in the U.S. Army, where she completed a deployment to Afghanistan as a member of a Special Operations Cultural Support team responsible for engaging with women and children to improve the intelligence picture on the ground. Currently, Meghan serves as a civil affairs officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, where she leads a team responsible for helping to coordinate civil–military operations in the interagency space. Meghan holds a Master’s in International Security with a concentration in human security from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. While at Korbel, Meghan worked as an intern at the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, where she led a data initiative on coalition airstrikes in Iraq and Syria. Meghan holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
