Alexandra Amling, a researcher with One Earth Future’s Research program (OEFR), leads the organization’s research in the area of gender and conflict. Her Stable Seas program work focuses predominantly on maritime mixed migration and coastal welfare. Alex leads Stable Seas program’s work on the Sulu and Celebes region and has been seconded to the UNODC’s Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok to work with the Global Maritime Crime Programme. Alex holds a graduate degree in Chinese and Southeast Asian Studies from Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, and a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute for International Studies at Monterey. Prior to joining One Earth Future in 2015, she was a program officer for The Asia Foundation and a gender consultant for GIZ and CARE International in Cambodia.
