Existing security initiatives in the South Pacific create a foundation for further development by local leaders and opportunities for external stakeholders to contribute resources, information, and expertise towards regional maritime security. Focusing on locally-led initiatives ensures coastal governance and maritime economies receive the consideration it requires.
